Pat Kelly

July 11, 1936 — December 10, 2020

James Patrick "Pat" Kelly, 84, of Denver, peacefully passed away Dec. 10, 2020. He was born in Denver July 11, 1936 as the youngest and last remaining sibling born to the late Edward and Gertrude Kelly. He is survived by his wife of 63 years Jacqueline (Jackie), his son Mick (Patty), seven grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren. He is proceeded in death by his daughter Karen Stanek (Don), and son Patrick Sean Kelly.

Pat grew up in Northeast Denver and attended Annunciation Catholic Church. He and Jackie married June 15, 1957 shortly after he came back from the Navy. He drove a semi for Denver/Chicago Trucking and worked as a photo engraver before becoming a full time Real Estate Broker in 1962, a career he enjoyed 52 years until he retired in 2014.

Pat made friends with nearly everyone he met. He was well respected in the Realtor community and really enjoyed working with people. He cherished his family and long time friends that he stayed in touch with until the day he died. He loved cars, owning more than 80 vehicles over the course of his life. He also liked to golf, travel, take long drives through the old neighborhood, spend time with the grandkids on trips to Georgetown and Estes Park, and going to diners and dives as well as fine dining.

Our funeral mass will be at Holy Name Catholic Church Tuesday February 2nd at 10:30 AM. The address is 3290 W. Milan Ave. Englewood, CO 80110. Private burial services will be at Ft. Logan National Cemetery at a later date. We decided to not have the Recitation of the Rosary at 10:00AM however the church will be open then and anyone wanting to say a Rosary in honor of Pat may come to the church at that time to say the rosary on their own. Otherwise plan on getting to the 10:30 AM mass a little early.

Due to Covid 19, funeral services will require a mask being worn in the church and will be limited to 175 guests. That said, the church is pretty big, and should adequately accommodate the group we are expecting so we encourage you to attend if you are comfortable with that.

An outdoor reception in celebration of Pat's life will be scheduled for a later date as weather and CDC guidelines permits. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to the Denver Dumb Friends League.
