Pat McCabe (86) went to be with his Lord on August 10, 2023.
Pat was born at Porter Hospital Denver, CO on April 30, 1937. He was the son and grandson of Colorado miners. He was the oldest of six children and is preceded in death by his parents, John Raymond McCabe and Edythe Elizabeth (Peterson) and his brother Randy McCabe. Pat did not have a middle name.
Graduating from Lakewood High School, he went on to receive his BA in Christian Education from Rockmont College which is now Colorado Christian University. He then went to Western Bible College for his teaching license and became pastor of Daniels Presbyterian Church in Golden. He taught bible studies for years at Aurora Hills Baptist Church and helped in children's ministries. In AWANA, he was proud to "Bring the milk and cookies!"
Pat joined the Air National Guard when he was 17 and served 33 years, serving in Vietnam and the Berlin Crisis with the Air Force. He retired as a Master Sergeant from Buckley Air National Guard Base, now Buckley Air Force Base.
Pat really loved Jesus, his family, the arts, woodworking, music, and laughing. He had the biggest smile and the softest heart. He met his wife, Helen, in 1959 at Montgomery Ward and she fell in love with this Irishman the first time he said, "Top of the mornin' to ye!"
Together, they had five children, 15 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and have loved and honored each other for 64 years.
He was kind and generous, although being of humble means, he always had enough; moreover he was very generous and giving, and supported every ministry he met.
Pat lived out his life verse: "Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable – if anything is excellent or praiseworthy – think about such things." Philippians 4:8.
A few years ago, Pat was working on the roof and fell, fracturing several bones and getting a severe concussion resulting in early Alzheimer's. His memory faded but his smile and his prayers didn't. He had spent a lifetime praying for everyone and everything, so even after he forgot the names of his family, he continued to remember prayer. At the age of 86, Pat was escorted from this world by his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He waited for one last song and kiss from his wife, looked up to his Lord and left for his forever home in Heaven where right now he is free.

Great Grandchildren: Zachery, Brooke, Clayton, Grace, Harper, Greyson, Ryleigh, Beckett, Joyce, Eleanor, Baby Yates, Christian, Judah, Silvara, Brayden, Zoey, Jack, Madeline, Boston, Caelyn.
