Patricia Faye Flach

March 1, 1947 — February 25, 2025

Patricia “Pat” “Trish” “Trisha” Faye Flach (Wood) aged 77, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on February 25, 2025, at Denver Hospice in Colorado from pancreatic cancer, 4 short weeks after being diagnosed. She was born on March 1, 1947, in Chicago, Illinois, to Maxie and Imogean “Jean” Wood (Morlan). She grew up in Berkeley, Illinois where some of her most cherished friendships began that would last her entire life. She graduated from Proviso West High School in 1965. After high school she headed to Western Illinois University where fate led to her drawing the name of her future husband out of a hat. Robert “Bob” Flach was the name she drew and the two married on October 21, 1967.

Their 57+ year marriage adventure took them to several places (Lombard, Illinois, Millington, Tennessee, San Diego, California, Fort Madison, Iowa and Milwaukee, Wisconsin) before finally landing in their forever home of Aurora, Colorado in 1976. It was in Colorado that they put down deep roots, connected with the community and raised their two children, Andrea and Nathan. She made their home a gathering spot and many of her children’s friends considered her a second Mom.

Pat was a devoted wife, Mom, dog Grandma, sister, and friend. There was nothing she would not do to help another person and spent much of her life giving to others and to causes close to her heart. Never one to shy away from advocating for someone or rolling up her sleeves to help, her care and concern knew no bounds. She always had a smile and an infectious amount of optimism. She found the positive in everything, even while enduring a lifetime of medical issues with strength and grace.

Pat was a lifelong learner, always curious and inquisitive and seeking to understand more about the world around her. She loved making new friends and getting to know them, was outgoing, loved exploring and going on adventures. She loved to travel (local and exotic) and was able to go on some great adventures, but still hoped to see so much more.

Pat was an entrepreneur at heart and ran many of her own businesses from Creative Circle to Debit One Mobile Bookkeeping. In addition to her own businesses, she spent over 30 years working for various State Farm agents and loved helping her clients and sharing her knowledge – something she continued to do to the end.

She is survived by her husband, Bob; her children Andrea (Nicholas) Filz and Nathan Flach; her brother, David (Linda) Wood; sister, Cindy Wood and many nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and loving friends. Preceded in death by her parents, Maxie and Jean; her aunt Maxine Wood; brother Richard Wood; nephew Marc Wood; and many other beloved family members.

She will be inurned at Fort Logan Cemetery in Denver, Colorado. Family, friends, and anyone who knew and loved her are invited to join the family for a Celebration of Life on May 10, 2025 in Aurora, Colorado (location TBD), to reminisce and honor Pat’s amazing life.
