Patricia R. Kazmier, 75, peacefully passed and was welcomed in heaven on Wednesday, July 18, 2018, in Aurora, Colorado, after living several years with end-stage renal disease. Her family was with her, including her daughter, Michelle Idle, son, Michael Kazmier, and sister, Mary Brent Gustafson. Pat was born November 5, 1942, in Bloomington, Illinois, to Gordon and Nellie Childers. She grew up in Bloomington, completing her Bachelor of Science degree at Illinois State University. Pat took her first teaching assignment at John Adams Elementary in Colorado Springs, then returned to Illinois and earned her masters degree. She lived in multiple locations including Mississippi, North Carolina, and Chicago before settling in Colorado in 1977. Pat continued to teach elementary school and was very active in the Evergreen chapter of the American Association of University Women. She loved people and after retiring from teaching, Pat remained active in the community, volunteering with Meals on Wheels and teaching line dancing to seniors. Pat loved spending time with her friends and family, traveling, and shopping. She was always the life of the party and excelled at making people smile. Pat was a friend to all, she loved and was loved by many, and she will be missed dearly.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to a local Meals on Wheels organization.
