Patricia May (Ineck) Weddig
March 12, 1946-Aug. 4, 2018

After six months of intense battle, Patricia May (Ineck) Weddig, 72, of Bailey, Colorado, succumbed to mantle cell lymphoma on Saturday, Aug. 4, 2018. Rather than go to hospice, she joined her husband, Frank, her parents, and her siblings Florence and Anthony in heaven. She leaves behind a huge collection of family and friends from her youth in Idaho, her early marriage in Wisconsin, and more than 47 years living in Colorado.

Pat was born on March 12, 1946, in Nampa, Idaho. She was the third daughter of Joseph and Zoe Ineck. Upon high school graduation, Pat attended Boise Junior College. In 1965, she met the love of her life, a U.S. Air Force airman named Franklin Otto Weddig. They were married on Nov. 5, 1966, in Idaho. On their honeymoon, they drove from Idaho back to Frank's home state of Wisconsin and passed through Colorado. They both thought the state was beautiful and vowed to live there one day. The couple settled in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin, for five years and had three daughters in that time. On Feb. 1, 1971, they moved their family to Aurora, Colorado.

Pat loved being a wife and a mother. She was highly involved with her daughters' schools and activities as well as taking a primary role in Frank's community activism by helping to coordinate several of his political campaigns. She worked for seven years as the office manager for the Arapahoe Democratic Party in Aurora. She was honored by the group with the Adlai Stevenson Lifetime Achievement Award in 1999. As her children grew older, she decided to return to school to pursue a lifelong passion for interior design. She earned an associate's degree from Arapahoe Community College, honing and training her natural talent for home design. After graduating, she worked as a faux-finish painter for several years. She was also an avid gardener of indoor and outdoor plants.

Pat and Frank moved to their dream mountain home in Bailey, Colorado, on Jan. 5, 2012. That year, Frank was diagnosed with a brain tumor and passed away on Oct. 26, 2012. Though devastated by the loss of her husband, Pat lived the past five and a half years fully. She made many new friends. She joined an aerobic swimming group and learned to swim at age 70. She also shared much laughter and fun with her Red Hats women's group.

Patricia is survived by her three daughters, Frances (Geoff) Thomson, Pamela (John) Williams, and Patrice (Kurt) Thoresen, and six grandchildren, Zoe (Aaron) Batilo, Ian Thomson, Megan and Kyle Williams, and Eva and Evan Thoresen. She is also survived by six sisters and eight brothers, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Her daughters invite you to a visitation with Celebration of Life gathering from 4-7 p.m. on Monday, August 13, 2018, at the Hyatt Regency Aurora-Denver Conference Center, 13200 E. 14th Place, Aurora, 80011.

Interment will be at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, August 14, 2018, at Staging Area "A" at Fort Logan National Cemetery, 3698 S. Sheridan Blvd., Denver, 80235
.
Donations in Pat's honor may be made to one of her favorite charities: the Gateway Battered Women's Shelter, www.gatewayshelter.org, or to a women's organization of your choice.
