A deeply-loved husband, a mitted father, a new grandfather, a beloved son and a fun-loving brother, Patrick Shawn Evans, 58, was born on June 5, 1959 in West Covina, California, to parents George Evans and Connie Paula Villani-Evans. Closest to Patrick is wife and the love of his life Lesley Evans and his first and only son Andrew Evans who embodies the strength and integrity of his joy. Together, how they mattered determined his compassions for life.
Patrick passed away on February 27, 2018, with his wife, family and friends present during his final moments in hospice care. He had bravely endured a spinal stroke condition which he suffered in 2015 that ultimately lead to his further loss of health.
Patrick and Lesley married on January 1, 2014. He valued his marriage to Lesley which marked the evolution of a pleasant friendship and then to a committed union that had its bout with reality. They experienced some unintended tough times and then some absolute happiness. Their marriage mirrored the usual roller-coaster of emotions but ultimately this story ended with a bond that flesh and bone could not break. Thiers was a connection that God hath made and it defined the condition of the spirit that lasted until the end of days.
He graduated from High School in 1977 and received a College degree in Computer Science on his home town of West Covina; Ca. Patrick spent his professional career in the Information Technology field where he worked as the "IT guy" for the Mental Health Corporation of Denver. Patrick finished his career with the US Department of Labor as a Systems Analyst with NuAxis.
Patrick was a true geek who loved to buy a new gadgets and then spend countless hours playing with them. But, he wasn't all nerd. He was an avid motorcycle rider and tough-guy tat and manly-man goat-tee. He was quite "the most Interesting man in the world" but he did tell his wife that he rode his motorcycle across the State of New Mexico for two weeks. Yeah…not exactly sure what to make of his claim but we still have people working on finding evidence.
People knew and will remember Patrick for his sense of humor. He had a dry, witty and cerebral style of humor. I'm convinced Patrick pretended to working hard on tech stuff when really he was really just compiling witty comebacks for all the people he liked… Patrick loved to make people laugh and he never stopped finding humor in life even while having very hard circumstances. You name it, failing organs, long hospital stays, and even paralysis Patrick could find a clever punch-line for the darkest moments. That was his way. He added some relief through humor even when it wasn't easy. As human beings, we don't get to choose what stumbling blocks get placed in our path but we do get to choose how to respond to it. Rest Peacefully.
Patrick is survived by his wife of 4 years, Lesley Evans; son Andrew Evans and his wife Stephanie; grandson AJ Evans; step-son and his wife Branden and Candace Craven; step-grandson Cassisus Craven, sisters Bunny Evans Masterson-Evans and Paula Evans; Brother Michael Evans; and a host of other nephews, nieces, cousins, relatives and dear friends.
