Pattie Jo Doss

April 13, 1932 — August 13, 2020

Remembering Pattie Jo Doss
Pattie Jo Campbell Doss returned to the Almighty on Thursday, August 13, 2020. "I have fought a good fight. I have finished the race and I have remained faithful. And now the prize awaits me - the crown of Righteousness." She passed from labor to reward; she finished her life-long race victoriously!
Pattie Jo Doss, a proud octogenarian, a diligent worker, a devoted woman of God, a loving mother and a chartered member of Peaceful Rest Baptist Church, was the second child of four born to the late Earnest and Emma Campbell in Philadelphia, Mississippi, April 13, 1932.
Pattie gave her life to the Lord at an early age joining Mt. Talley Baptist Church at age 10. Later, moving to Indiana, she joined Zion Baptist Church and worked with the Youth Department. While in Indiana, she met and married the late Charles Doss, Sr., a military man who served in the Marines. To this union, eight children were born: twin girls - Charlene (deceased) and Jolene, and six sons - Charles Jr., Charles Blaine, Michael Lee, Richard Lee, Ronald and Jerell. The family moved to Denver, CO where Pattie joined Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, under the late Pastor D.M. Survine, Jr. and continued her membership with Peaceful Rest Baptist Church, Aurora, CO.
As a chartered member of Peaceful Rest and one of the Mothers of the church, Pattie was a willing worker in the Army of the Lord. She sang in the choir, was director of the Mission and Women's Choir, director of Christian Education, Vacation Bible School, attended and earned five certificates from the United Theological Seminary, was a true fashionista, with her sometimes blue hair, and a baker extraordinaire! She could bake a caramel cake that would melt in your mouth!
