Paul Gerald Arnholt, 80, of Denver, Colorado went to be with his Savior on February 10, 2009. He was born June 27, 1928 in Columbus, Indiana to August Arnholt and Claire Christina Menzendiek. He was preceded in death by his parents, 6 brothers and 1 sister. He is survived by 1 brother and 1 sister. He is also survived by his loving wife Sue Arnholt, of almost 47 years of marriage, and his three children, Greg Arnholt and Shelley, and their children Devin, Nathan, & Anna, Reverend Brad Arnholt and Lisa, and their children Leiland and Micah, and Christina (Arnholt) Meek and Jason, and their son Austin. Also Kay Lackey of California, Joyce (Billy) Ballentine of Missouri, Bob Million also of Missouri. Paul served in the Air Force at the end of World War II as a communications expert. He then went to work for Denver Public Schools where he worked for 37 years, 3 months, and 10 days. (He would tell you exactly that if asked.) Paul was a faithful servant of our Lord, and lived his faith in many ways including offices of service at the church such as congregational president, Head elder, elder, chairman of the trustees, member of the Tuesday crew and could on occasion be seen driving his circa 1950's riding lawn mower to church to mow the lawn. None of these positions were attained for show, but out of a humble devotion and desire to serve his Lord and Savior. He was a loving and devoted husband who encouraged his wife and through the Holy Spirit brought her to faith, a faithful father who ensured his children were baptized and raised in the one true faith; a loving grandfather always willing to take time for his grandchildren and be a faithful example of Christian leadership in the home; and friend. He will be deeply missed. In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions can be sent to Lutheran Heritage Foundation World Mission Center at 51474 Romeo Plan, Macomb, MI 48042.
