Peggy Ann Stahl

February 23, 1936 — August 19, 2024

Denver, Colorado

Peggy Ann Stahl, 88, entered Heaven August 19, 2024. She was born February 23, 1936 in Springerton, IL to Elery & Ruby (Smith) Woodrow.

The most important decision of her life came at the age of twenty-seven when she realized she was a sinner in need of a Savior and accepted Jesus Christ as her own personal Savior and was assured that the blood of Jesus Christ had washed away her sin and provided for her eternal home in Heaven. The second most important decision in her life came after meeting and falling in love with Merle Gene Stahl. They married on January 28, 1953. Robin Gene was born November 1953 in Rockford, IL and Julie Ann was born in May 1958 in Peoria, IL. In the summer of 1960 the family moved to Denver, Colorado where they remained. Peggy enrolled in community college in 1967 and earned an associates degree in data processing so that she could help to pay for her children to attend Christian School. She worked as the Data Entry Manager for Mr. Steak, Int. for many years. After moving to the south side of Denver in 1980, she took time to travel with Merle for job assignments in California, Phoenix, Kansas, and Indiana. She also spent several years working for Administrative Concepts where she met one of her great loves, a little white dog named Popcorn. Peggy loved babies and spent many years working in the church nursery. When she was no longer able to do that, she became the “candy lady” at church, passing out sugary treats to the children who would line up before the service. Peggy shared a love for missions with Merle and generously supported a number of missionaries. They began attending First Baptist Church in the early 2000s.

Peggy is survived by daughter, Julie (Brian) Washburn; daughter-in-law, Cindy Melker Stahl; grandchildren: Ranae (Danny) Ramsey; Danielle Trevino; Tiffany (Tyler) Flageolle; Jennifer (Jimmy) Guenther; Jonathan (Anna) Washburn; and great-grandchildren: Max, Micah, and Adam Ramsey; Caiden, Madelaine, and Maverick Trevino; Levi Flageolle; Jacob, Owen, Wesley, and Isla Guenther; and Jack, Charlie, and Ava Washburn. Surviving sibling is VernaLee (Wilber) Etienne. Predeceasing her are her husband, Merle Gene Stahl, her son, Robin Gene Stahl, her parents, her siblings, Bill (Carol) Woodrow, Henry (Ethel) Woodrow, and Doris (Jim) Prince.
