Perry Doyle Rockwell

Perry Doyle Rockwell was born near Eckley, Colorado on July 27, 1925 to Albert and Winona (Weaver) Rockwell. He was the second youngest of nine children. After graduating from Wray High School in 1943, he joined the Navy. In June of 1950, Perry married Beverly Jean Doling. They had two children, Tacy and Kevin. Perry was a great salesman and marketed cutlery and cookware until the day of his passing.

Perry passed away Saturday, January 9, 2010 and is survived by his daughter Tacy, her husband Gary, their three children – Hannah, Samuel, Zephaniah, and his son Kevin, his wife Jeremie, and their son Benjamin. He is also survived by his sister Lovina Schakelaar and her husband Paul. Perry is also survived by a very large and loving extended family.

In lieu of flowers, the Perry Rockwell memorial has been established at Lakewood Church of the Nazarene, 1755 Dover Street, Lakewood, Colorado 80215.

Perry lived his life for Jesus Christ sharing his testimony with many people. He was actively involved at Lakewood Church of the Nazarene for nearly fifty years. He taught numerous Sunday school classes, helped with the bus ministry, served on the church board, and sang in the choir. Perry was known to all as the "Candy Man" passing out candy after church services to all the kids. Perry had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh and sing. He loved children – especially babies - and they loved him. He took care of his grandchildren every opportunity he had. Perry's life gave a tremendous heritage of integrity, love, and commitment. We will miss him.
