Philip Richard Lorenzen was born on May 26, 1945 in Tampa, Florida to Philip and Mary Lorenzen. He passed away at home on April 25, 2021, lovingly surrounded by his family.
When his father returned from World War II the family settled in San Francisco. Phil was a 1963 graduate of George Washington High School. He worked at Stecher Traung Schmidt Lithograph Company until he enlisted in the army and was eventually stationed in Germany. When he returned home and finished his military service he returned to work at Stecher Traung. He worshiped at St. Paulus Lutheran Church in San Francisco and was active in the young adult group where on July 14, 1968 he met Carol, the love of his life, whom he married June 28, 1969.
In 1976 Phil was promoted to sales and they relocated to Denver. Here they made their home. Their first child, Philip, was born and passed away at an early age. They later grew their family with the adoption of Peter and then Lisa. Their family involvement in church and the Christian education of their children was all important to Phil.
Phil enjoyed bowling, fishing, golf, and doing jumbles in the newspaper. He stayed active in the Word through daily devotions and prayer, LifeLight Bible study, and other ministries at Bethlehem Lutheran Church.
Phil is survived by his wife Carol of 52 years, his two children Peter (Abby) and Lisa (Josiah), and his three granddaughters Lilly, Ava, and Jade who lovingly called him Opa. He is also survived by his sister Pam (John), their two children John (Tammy) and Heidi-Beth, and their grandsons Michael and Connor. Also still living is his 85 year old Uncle Richard in Florida.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made out to Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Lakewood, Colorado.
