Phillip M. Trujillo Sr., 71, of Aurora, CO, went home to our Lord and Savior on August 5th, 2023. He was born on December 11th, 1951, in Springer, NM, to the late Seferino and Virginia Trujillo.
Phil was a man of great integrity, intelligence, and honesty. He was a loving father and devoted husband. Known for his natural leadership abilities, he was the glue that held his family together and their prayer warrior. As a father he was not just his children's guidance to our Lord and Savior he was our hero, our role model, our rock, our best friend. He was, is and will always be the light that guided us out of the darkness. His presence made everything better, no matter what was going on. Phil had a knack for sharing life experiences with a twist of sarcasm, captivating his audience. Despite facing trials and tribulations, he endured with grace. Phil was a pillar of the community, serving as a Pastor and guiding countless of people to know and understand God's word.
Survived by Gina Trujillo, his beloved wife of 45 years, Phil leaves behind a legacy of love and faith. He is also survived by his children: Phillip M. Trujillo Jr. (Melissa), Sabina M. Trujillo, Elena M. Dominguez (Daniel), Isaac J. Trujillo (Shannon), and Olivia L. Trujillo. Phil is also survived by his brothers: Fred Trujillo (Yoly), Gilbert Trujillo (Lucy), and Alfonso Trujillo (Lori); his sister, Patsy Coca (Ray), and Juanita Esquibel (Roger); as well as 14 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, mother, brothers Reyes, Richard, Raymond, and Carlos Trujillo, and sister Lisa Mora.
Phil attended Springer High School and later pursued higher education, achieving his Associates Degree in Behavioral Health.
Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during the viewing on August 14th, 2023, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Newcomers Funeral Home, located at 901 South Sheridan Blvd, Lakewood, CO 80226. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Aug. 15th at New Hope Ministries, located at 875 Sheridan Blvd, Lakewood, CO 80226.
Phil will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his love and teachings will forever live on in the hearts of those he touched.
