Phyllis L. Glock

October 12, 1936 — October 10, 2023

Phyllis L. Glock aged 86 of Commerce City, CO passed peacefully on October 10, 2023, with many family members by her side.

Phyllis was born in Sioux City, IA on October 12, 1936, to Marvin and Bertha Klameth. She met the love of her life, Edwin Glock from North Dakota. He was older and joining the Army when she first caught his eye. Her parents and her were both reluctant about an older man who was heading off, but he wrote to her often and their love only grew. He would soon become her forever person. They were married on September 25, 1954. Edwin and Phyllis were blessed with 4 children, Lori (Gary) Weber, Julie (Bill) Howell, Craig (Mary) Glock, and Darrell (Sandy) Glock.

After starting their family together in Iowa, they made a short move to Goodland, KS where they opened their family restaurant for a few years. Later they made their final move to Commerce City, CO, a place they would call their forever home.

Phyllis is preceded in death by her father and mother, Husband, 3 siblings Elaine Nelson, Janice Engle, Frank Klameth, her Daughter Julie Howell, Granddaughter Shannon Howell and Great-great-granddaughter, Elizabeth Martin.
She is survived by 13 Grandchildren, 36 Great-grandchildren, and 5 Great-great-grandchildren.

Phyllis spent many years as an Office Manager at the local Alco department store. Phyllis loved her Broncos, cards and going, "up the hill", to play a few slot machines. She loved to travel and could tell you every street, highway and pit stop from anywhere she had ever travelled.

Her heart was always her husband, children, and her home. According to her children, there was never a night they were not all together at the table for a big family dinner. She was known for making sticky buns, fresh bread, or some other baked treats on a regular basis. During Christmas time, her family anticipated the tub full of homemade candies.

Phyllis was known in her family for her big heart and someone who could always be counted on. Their house was always the place for Holiday dinners, BBQs, Easter egg hunts, Volleyball, Horseshoes, a few family weddings, and always a good game of cards. Her and Eddie loved their Pinochle games, especially with her out of town relatives visiting. She was also the biggest Bronco fan you would ever come across. Sundays you could hear her screaming about a block away.

When Phyllis lost her husband, she did her best to continue with as many events as she could and maintain the large yard where most of these memories have taken place. When the time came for her to relocate due to health issues, it was a big loss to her as well as the entire family. Phyllis made the best of her situation and eventually even called her new stop, her Great-granddaughter's house, HOME. This would be her final home, a home filled with just as much love, until her final moments, together with those whom she gave all her love and fondest memories.
