Phyllis Jane McDonald, 72 of Golden, Colorado passed away Thursday, May 22, 2008 at Lutheran Hospital, Wheat Ridge, CO.
Services are 10:00 am, Thursday, May 29th at Newcomer Funeral Home, Lakewood, CO. Burial is in the Golden Cemetery. Visitation is Wednesday, 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Phyllis was born on August 12th, 1934 in Burlington, IA the daughter of Lloyd and Ethel Hewitt. She married H. D. McDonald on December 14th, 1952, in Winfield, IA.
She spent the first part of her life engaged in farming in Iowa and later went on to a successful career as a real estate agent in business with her husband for several years in Golden. She was active in the Republican Party in Jefferson County and the local Packard Club. She enjoyed traveling, cooking and gardening and was devoted to her large family and many friends.
Survivors include her husband H. D., and three sons, Cary, Littleton, CO, Tim, Las Vegas, NV, and Brent, also of Littleton. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and her beloved dog Boo. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, three brothers and her oldest son, Dane.
