76, of Denver, Colorado, passed away February 17, 2006. Services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday at Generations at Lowry. Expressions of sympathy may be made at www.newcomerfamily.com.
Phyllis 'Mother' Murphy was born in 1929 in Sheffield, Illinois and moved to Peoria in her early 20's. She worked as a hotel clerk, LPN, homemaker, and medical office manager before retiring to live with her sister in Denver, Colorado.
Wherever she went, Phyl had an open smile and a story to share. Family, friends, co-workers, the Generations at Lowry community, and hospital staff have all been touched by her fabulous sense of humor, caring, and compassion for others despite her own personal pain. As her sister, said, 'It's been quite a ride', and Phyl made the most of it. This great lady will truly be missed.
Phyllis is survived by her brother, Bill Crockett of Michigan; sister, Roberta 'Jane' Hafner of Denver; son David Dunbar of California, daughters Darcy Etaugh of Washington and Jennifer Bailey of Colorado Springs; grandchildren, Heather and Geoffrey Etaugh of Colorado Springs, Ryan Smith of Toronto, Meghanne Baca of Kentucky, and Sarah Lattimer of Kansas; great-grandchildren, Alexis and Damian Baca of Kentucky, and Jeffrey Lattimer, Jr. of Kansas.
