Ralph Lawrence Monson was a beloved husband, father, and friend who passed away peacefully in Denver, Colorado on October 25, 2024 at the age of 81. He was surrounded by his loving family at the time of his passing, after a courageous struggle with Pancreatic cancer.
He was born in Denver Colorado on December 1, 1942.
Ralph is survived by his wife Janet, and children: Liisa (Todd), Suzanne (Brent), Isaac (Aude), Zipporah (Michael), Debborah (Daniel), Campbell Joseph, and daughter-in-law, Erin.
He was predeceased by his first wife Gloria, son Matthew, and daughter Jennifer.
Ralph was a disciple of Jesus Christ, a devoted husband and father, and a true patriot who was out voting the day before his passing. He was proud of his military service. He was a missionary, serving a two year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Finland, and constantly sharing the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Music played a significant role in Ralph’s life. He found joy in singing with friends, family, and choirs. He cherished family gatherings, where the spirited atmosphere of food and fun games would bring everyone together. He encouraged those around him to be cheerful and helpful.
Ralph's passion for work was matched by his love for people. He was a graduate from Brigham Young University and entrepreneur, owning several businesses and involving his children to teach them the value of hard work. He had an innate ability to connect with others, sharing warmth and laughter wherever he went.
Ralph was known for his unwavering faith, his strong-willed personality, his friendly talkative nature, and his determination to be a light and influence for good in the world.
As we remember Ralph, we do so with an abundance of love and gratitude for the impact he had on our lives. He taught us to live adventurously and cherish every moment with family and friends.
Ralph's visitation will be held on November 15, 2024, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, located at 6465 W. Jewell Ave, Lakewood, CO. The funeral service will follow immediately thereafter from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM. A graveside service will take place at Fort Logan National Cemetery, located at 3698 South Sheridan Boulevard, Denver, CO, beginning at 2:00 PM.
Ralph Lawrence Monson’s legacy of faith, family and love will carry on in the hearts of everyone he touched. He will be deeply missed.
