Ramona Bernhardt

Ramona Bernhardt, 86, of Denver died Monday, August 7, 2023. She was born to the late Jose Luis Fierro and Leonor Ortiz Fierro on December 14, 1936 in Lamar, Colorado. She married Gunter Bernhardt November 12, 1966 and they lived in the house on south Fairfax for over 55 years. Prior to marriage, Ramona worked at the hospital in Lamar and later as a homemaker. She loved cooking, sewing, playing cards, dancing, music and time with family; especially watching her grandsons play ball.

She is preceded in death by her parents Jose Luis and Leonor Fierro, sister Mary Perez (William), sister Bonnie Rios (Frank), and sister Ruby Gonzales (Ray, 81).

Ramona is survived by her husband Gunter, son Gregory (Cheryl), daughter Brenda (Michael), grandsons Zachary and Braeden, brother Joe Fierro (Tanya), and sister Jenny Cruz (Henry).

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to Denver Hospice at www.thedenverhospice.org - or Alzheimer's Association, www.act.alz.org

Services will be held on Friday August 18, at St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church located at 2375 E. Arizona Ave. in Denver, CO. Visitation 9:00 – 9:30, Rosary to follow. Mass will be at 10:00 am funeral After services, the reception will be held at VFW #9644, 2680 W. Hampden Ave, Englewood, CO 80110 from 12:00-3:00 p.m.

She will be laid to rest at Ft. Logan National Cemetery at 9:15 am on Monday, August 21st: Staging Area B
