We have suffered a great loss with the passing of Randall G. "Randy" Gordanier, 58, of Arvada, on November 1, 2008.
Randy was the loving and devoted Husband of Donna; Father of Randall Guy (Joy) Gordanier, Jr., of Anchorage, AK; Cristi Gordanier, Arvada; Kristen Gordanier, Lakewood; Jamie (Ken) Smith, Buena Vista, CO; and Brianne (Stephen) Baker, Buena Vista, CO. Brother of Robert Gordanier and Gretchen Gordanier. Randy is also survived by 15 grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Randy served in the Army in the U.S. and abroad, where he was honored for his marksmanship and many achievements. He then began working with the Golden Police Department, where he worked his way up, ultimately leaving the Department as Sergeant. After that, he began working with the Denver District Attorney as a Criminal Investigator. All throughout his career, he also served as Commander of the Lakeside Police Department. Randy will forever be remembered for his lifetime of commendable dedication to law enforcement, and his positive impact on the community. He was well known in Colorado law enforcement and he will be greatly missed.
Randy had a truly exceptional personality, and he found humor in everything. He loved to play games and joke around, and his humor affected everyone. His endearing gestures and clever sayings like "Glad you got to see me" would make anyone smile. He cherished his grandchildren, and had nicknames for everyone. Those who know Randy have been touched by him. He was always willing to help anyone, and he was the first one there when you needed him. He will forever be in our hearts and minds.
Randy and Donna just celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary. The love they share will endure eternally.
