Raymond C. Bryslan, 77, died February 19, 2010, at the University of Colorado Hospital.
A Funeral Service will be held Thursday February 25, 2010 at 11a.m. at Burns Memorial United Methodist Church, 1095 Newark St. Aurora, CO. Full Military Honors will be held at Fort Logan National Cemetery at 2:30 p.m. (Staging Area B) on Thursday February 25, 2010.
Mr. Bryslan was born April 30, 1932, in Zanesville, Ohio, to Philip and Glenna Bryslan.
He graduated from high school and enlisted in the Unites States Air Force. He met his wife, June Mingaye, in England and they married November 21, 1953. He served in the U. S. Air Force for 28 years and moved to Aurora in 1976. He retired from the U.S. Air Force in 1979. He then worked for Martin Marietta until his retirement in 2000.
He was a member of the Elks and Eagles and enjoyed golf, traveling, camping, and fishing.
His family wrote: "Ray loved spending time with his family and friends. He also enjoyed meeting and
sharing stories with everyone he met. He always told a good story and was a gentle man. He always had a warm smile for everyone he met, we will miss that greeting that told you he was truly happy to see you. He will be missed greatly by his family and everyone who knew him."
Mr. Bryslan is survived by his wife, June Bryslan; sister, Onalee Bradshaw; sons, Phillip Bryslan and Chris Bryslan; daughthters-in-law, Robin Bryslan, and Stephanie Bryslan; and 5 granddaughters; Samantha, Jazmin, Rachael, Natalie and Kelsie.
The family requests that donations be given to the American Cancer Society, 2255 South Oneida St., Denver, Colorado 80224 or University of Colorado Hospital Foundation, 12401 East 17th Avenue, Mail Stop F485, Aurora, CO 80045, in lieu of flowers.
