79 of Lakewood, CO, passed away February 6, 2008 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born June 1, 1928 in Denver, CO the son of Thomas J. and Violet S. Moran
Ray attended school at St. Catherines, North high school, and graduated from Randell high school where he received the Ann Ragland Cup Award for scholarship, sportsmanship, and citizenship. He married Jo Miller of Arvada on November 25, 1950. He then went on to attend Regis college. He worked for Dixon Paper Company and Lily Tulip Paper Company. Ray and Jo owned The Rectory, a Christian Bookstore, in Cinderella City and Villa Italia for fifteen years. Ray enjoyed gardening, story telling, singing, dancing, traveling, sports, and family.
The family would like to express their sincere thanks to the doctors and staff of Rocky Mountain Cancer Center, Lutheran Hospital and Hospice, and Radiation Center. The family will be receiving friends condolences after the services at their home.
Ray is preceded in death by his brother Thomas Jr.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Jo Moran of Lakewood CO, his daughters Vicki Pearson (Gary) of Arvada CO, and Lori Danek (Dennis) of Golden CO. His grandchildren Brad Danek (Jamie) of Lakewood CO, David Danek (Gwen) of Lakewood CO, Amy Danek of Golden CO, and Logan Pearson (Paul Woodward) of Arvada, CO.
