Raymond Palmer Swanson

Ray was born on October 27, 1930 in Ashland, Wisconsin to Palmer and Victoria (Skingel) Swanson. He was the eldest of five children.

Military Service
Corporal Raymond Palmer Swanson served in the US Army from 1951 to1953 and worked communications during the Korean Conflict. He was honorably released to the Reserves on October 9, 1953 with a United Nations Service Medal and a Korean Service Medal with three bronze service stars and two overseas bars.

Raymond "Poppa Ray" Swanson will be remembered by his children, grandchildren and friends as the man who loved to make people laugh. He taught his children and grandchildren many jokes and silly songs and was the Poppa who always carried candy in his pockets. He will be missed by all who knew him.

The family would like to invite everyone to a gathering following the graveside service at Crossroads Church, 10451 Huron Street, Northglen, CO at 1 pm.
