Raynelle Hinds, age 86, passed away at The Villas at Sunny Acres on January 29, 2009, after her battle with cancer.
She was born in Vernon, Texas on December 27, 1922 to Kate (Salmon) and Raymond Rigsby. She was raised in Canyon, Texas and graduated from Canyon High School and attended West Texas State University.
Raynelle was united in marriage on November 26, 1942 to Dean Elden Hinds. Raynelle was a long time member of Northwest Baptist Church. Early in her life she worked as a teacher in Denver Public Schools and she also taught Sunday school. Later she became an assistant librarian specializing in audio-visual programs. She became interested in china painting, instructing others and holding membership and offices in three China Painting Associations. She was well known for her talent and won many awards in area competitions.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Raymond and Kate Rigsby.
Survivors are her husband, Dean Hinds; daughters Carla Carnes and Dena Jones; son-in-laws Larry Carnes and Bob Jones; brothers, James Rigsby and Dr. Leo Rigsby; sister, Virginia Iverson; sisters-in-law Hazel Rigsby and Mary Rigsby; brother-in-law, Donal Iverson; nephew Michael Rigsby and nieces, Roseanne Havron, Beth Leech, Amy Iverson, Dr. Ellen Rigsby and Theresa Dougherty.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Denver Hospice or the American Cancer Society.
