Rebecca Louise Ramsey, aka Becky Armstrong, was born on March 5, 1955 in Wichita, Kansas and died on July 6, 2020 in Broomfield, Colorado.
Becky was born to her parents, TJ and Margret Armstrong, was one of thirteen siblings, and was number seven in the birth order. She grew up with her parents and siblings in Mulvane, Kansas. She went to primary and secondary school in Mulvane and was a big time participant in extracurricular activities such as outdoor recreation and sports.
After Becky's secondary education, she enrolled at Emporia State University where she was a student-athlete that participated in Track & Field and Field Hockey. She also managed to make time to tutor other student-athletes while she dealt with the rigors of her own academic and athletic schedules. She graduated with a Bachelor's degree.
Becky started her teaching and coaching career in St. Francis, Kansas and then went on to teach and coach at Labette County High School in Altamont, Kansas and also for the Parsons School District. During her time at Labette County High School, she met her husband Ralph R. Ramsey Jr., who was also a teacher and coach.
Becky and Ralph married June 4, 1983 and raised three children, Jimmy, Andrew, and Aaron.
Later on in life, the family moved to Broomfield, Colorado where Becky continued to teach for many school districts, including DPS and BVSD. She still had a need for sports in her life and began her officiating and mentoring career. She officiated a multitude of sports including: Fast Pitch Softball, Basketball, Volleyball, Field Hockey, Lacrosse and Swimming & Diving.
In addition to raising her family, she was an avid quilter and active member of the Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church.
Becky is preceded in death by her parents, TJ and Margret, and her brother, Tim.
She is survived by her spouse, Ralph R. Ramsey Jr., three children, two grandchildren, and 11 siblings.
A Recitation of the Rosary will be held on Friday, July 17, at 10:30 am, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am, both at Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church, 900 W Midway Blvd, Broomfield, CO 80020.
