Reginald Wilson of Empire, Colorado passed on April 23, 2018. He was born on September 22, 1952 to Rita and Ray Wilson in San Antonio, Texas. Being born into an USAF family, Reggie traveled frequently as a child and attended many schools in the process.
Upon graduation, Reggie joined the Air Force himself. After completing boot camp in Cheyenne Wyoming, he was stationed overseas where he "fought the battle of Ipswich, England". It was there that he was trained as a firefighter and found his calling in life. Upon leaving the service, Reg joined the Aurora, Colorado fire department where he served over 20 years as a firefighter and paramedic. Reg also served as a volunteer firefighter in Empire.
During this time in his life, Reggie found his true love – Karen. They were a match made in heaven and adored one another. During their 35 years together, Reggie and Karen enjoyed extensive travel, time spent on their boat and the company of their many friends and family.
After enjoying retirement for a few years, Reggie joined the Clear Creek County Sheriffs Department serving as a deputy sheriff for 8 years. During this time, Reggie was diagnosed with ALS which necessitated retirement. Although devastated with this diagnosis, Reggie and Karen never gave up hope.
