It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Renee Vigil Kreidle on November 2, 2024 at the age of 64. Renee was born to Abel Vigil and Diana Spahn Vigil on May 1, 1960 in Denver, Colorado.
Preceded in death by her father, Abel Vigil. Survived by her mother, Diana Vigil; daughter, Nicole Kreidle Bernstein; son-in-law, Kevin Bernstein; grandchildren, Dylan and Sheldon Bernstein; brothers, Lance Vigil and Todd Vigil; and life partner, Michael Bahr. She will be missed by several loving aunts, nieces, and cousins.
Renee achieved at all she did. During her high school years at John F. Kennedy High School in Denver, she was a championship diver. She earned a letter and then joined a diving club and participated in the National Junior Olympics. Also, she was an outstanding scholar and was awarded the Boettcher Scholarship in 1978, which was awarded to just the top student in the state of Colorado. With this “full ride” Scholarship, Renee went on to attend Colorado College where she was a member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority. She and one of her best friends, Vicky Egan, took time off to study the Arts in London and Florence, where they lived, and learned the culture.
At Colorado College, Renee met her former husband, Kevin Kreidle. They married after he attended George Town University. Renee went on to study law at the University of Denver, where she earned her law degree and Juris Doctorate. Their daughter, Nicole, was born that same year. Following that, Renee and Kevin formed the law firm Kreidle & Kreidle. When the Firm closed, Renee went on to join Bahr and Treece. There, Renee became a partner a few years later. She is remembered as a caring and hardworking counselor on behalf of her clients – always going the extra mile.
We do not weep for her today because of the prestige attached to her name or her credentials. We weep because we loved this kind and tender hero who persevered through so much – not for ambition or wealth, vanity or power but only for the people and family she loved so much.
Most people will remember Renee as an extremely loyal mother, daughter, sister, and friend. She was also a mentor and advisor to many. She was very social and outgoing and made friends easily. She was well liked and respected. She was someone you could trust and rely on; someone you could confide in and ask for advice. Someone we have all had the great privilege of knowing!
In addition, she loved to enjoy outings and traveling with friends and family. She had a passion for gardening and cooking – as well as rescuing dogs.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the charity of your choice; or to Animal Rescue of the Rockies, or the Denver Dumb Friends League.
A Celebration of Life honoring Renee will be held on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, at 4:00 pm at the Newcomer West Metro Chapel, 901 S. Sheridan Blvd., Denver.
