Born in 1928 in Fort Collins, CO and died in Denver 2/16/2019. Bob spent 10 years as campus minister at CSU, and later served United Methodist congregations in Denver, Central City, SW Colorado, and Wyoming. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Patria, and his five siblings. He is survived by his wife Anne, to whom he was married for 48 years. He is also survived by Steve Hunter (Paul Vinette) Cinda (Jim) Polley , Ted Hunter, and Jon Hunter (Lesley Kandaras).
Bob earned degrees from Nebraska Wesleyan, the University of Colorado and the Iliff School of Theology. He was an excellent tenor, loved music, including classical and jazz, and especially choral and organ church music. He also loved to travel and experience new things, and to remember his trip with students to Peru and Bolivia while a campus minister. During his campus ministry period in the 60's he went to Hattiesburg, Mississippi to assist with a voter registration drive, gaining a whole new perspective into hate and fear.
Family was of great importance to Bob. He took great pride in the accomplishments of his sons and daughter. He joked about having his own grandchildren, because of the large age difference between his first two children and the second two. As a pastor he thought of many in his congregations as an extension of his family. He especially liked creating unique wedding services for the couples he married. And, he was very good at memorials and funerals, even for strangers. Bob was always happy to be called upon for his own family's services, and was so very glad to be able to perform the wedding of his son Steve and Paul Vinnette. He made sure that the church hierarchy knew that he was doing it.
Bob was intelligent, witty, and thoughtful, passionate about causes, sensitive to others needs, and above all caring and loving.
