Rhudof Chambers was born to the late Powell Chambers, Jr. and Elizabeth Ross on April 29, 1932 in Franklin, TX. Rudy, as he was affectionally called, was the seventh of nine children born into this union.

Rudy served in the United States Air Force. During his military service, he received numerous awards, medals and citations. After twenty years of service, he was honorably discharged.

Rudy received his Bachelor of Science degree from Metropolitan State University in Denver, Colorado. While attending the university, Rudy began working for the United States Department of the Interior, U. S. Fish and Wildlife Service and continued work there for twenty years retiring as Assistant Director for Human Resources.

On July 27, 1986, Rudy married Weenonah Drenon in Houston, Texas. There were no children born to this union. Rudy is the proud father of two daughters and two step daughters, eight grand children and eleven great grandchildren.
Rhudof was a long-time member of True Vision Church. Family, friends and co-workers remember him as a hard-working man who was disciplined, driven, and successful. He was a very generous man who enjoyed life. Rudy loved playing golf anytime or anywhere. The most memorable round of golf that he ever played was with the great boxer, Joe Louis "The Brown Bomber" and the great balladeer, Billy Eckstine. He was a Master Mason and a member of several social clubs, including "Gathering of the Eagles", which was his favorite.

Rudy departed this life, to be with the Lord, on Wednesday, June 29, 2022 after having traveled to Denver, CO for a golf trip. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of thirty-six years, Weenonah Chambers; daughters, Janet M. Dobbins (Alfred) of Longview, TX, Nedra Chambers of Salt Lake City, UT, Jerrie Wilson (Brian) of Powder Springs, GA, and Tracie White (Byron) of Grand Prairie, TX; sister, Alyce F. Maxey of Dallas, TX. He will also be missed by his grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and close friends.

Rudy's Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, July 21, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at True Vision Church located on 2826 Ackerman Road in San Antonio, TX 78219
