Richard Spafford Bartlett passed away in the comfort of his home surrounded by the warmth and love of his family. Known to family and friends as "Dick", Richard was born on March 29th, 1935 in Denver, Colorado to Harold Dana and Mildred Grace Bartlett. He graduated from East Highschool in 1952. Shortly after, Dick served his country in the Korean War as a member of the Navy SeaBees until his honorable discharge in 1957. He earned a B.A in Construction Management and his MBA from the University of Denver, graduating in 1962.

After leaving DU, Dick worked as the Branch President of Capitol Federal Savings for 13 years before transitioning into a real estate career where he worked for Moore Realty, Poole & Co. and Bartlett Land Co for a combined 27 years in sales and real estate development. He lived an active lifestyle as an avid hunter and fisherman, and also played semi-pro football for the Colorado Colts from 1964-1968. He served his community as the Mayor of Arvada and was an active member of Christ the King Parish, Crossroads Church of Denver, and Faith Bible Chapel of Arvada. His passion for the outdoors was fulfilled through his work as the President of the Jefferson County Parks and Recreation board, as well as the state of Colorado board of Park and Recreation.

Dick is survived by his wife, Sally of 62 years, and his three children, Julie (Robert) Dechant, Karen (Marc) Banister and Richard (Dena) Bartlett. He was a grandfather to eight grandchildren: Alec, Lucas, Grace and Jacob Bartlett; Niki Riat and Ashleigh Mascaro; Marcus Banister and Elizabeth Brewer.
