It is with heavy hearts that we announce the death of our son and brother Richard A. Bates. He left this world for a better place on March 18, 2023 after a courageous battle with continuing health concerns.
Rich was born on July 31,1955, the second son of Melvin and Emma Bates.
Rich joined the Navy shortly after high school and took great pride in his military service.
He will be joined in heaven by his father Melvin, younger brother Bob and his loving companion Susan Campbell.
Rich is survived by his mother Emma, his brother Melvin, and his sister Brenda from Colorado and Susan's daughter Mindy and her family from Kansas.
