Richard "Dick" Schutt, 80, of Aurora Colorado passed away on December 24, 2020 of heart failure.
He was born to the late Carl and Ella Schutt on June 8, 1940 in Rockford, IA. Dick graduated from Mason City High School in 1958 and received a BA in teaching from the University of Northern Iowa. He was the first in his family to graduate from a four year university.
Dick was an entrepreneur his entire life; he left teaching after two years to pursue business opportunities, which included building houses, caramel apple production, and pet care. He was involved in the local Optimist Club, Rotary Club of Aurora, American Kennel Association, he was the Team Captain for his bowling league and was active with his church. In December of 1992, Dick had a very successful heart transplant which gave him 28 years of life that he lived to the fullest.
Dick is survived by his two children, Marcus Schutt of Denver and Christina Beumer of Parker. He is also survived by three grandchildren, two brothers, David and John Schutt and three sisters, Rosalyn Barron, Linda Kellogg and Constance Yeager.
Services for immediate family will be held at Augustana Lutheran Church in Denver on January 7, 2021. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later time.
