Richard James Buckley

Richard James Buckley died at his home early on Friday, November 24, 2006. He is survived by his daughter, Dee Ellen (Robert Bowman), sons Richard, Jr. (Cheryl), Steven (Dorota), Michael (Denise) and Brian. His wife of 52 years, Dorothy and his daughter Sandra preceded him in death. Four grandchildren also survive him.
Dick was born in Springfield, MA on June 17, 1919. He graduated from Holy Cross College in 1942 and began active duty in the United States Marine Corps shortly thereafter. He served in various locales in the South Pacific during World War II and also served during the Korean conflict.
After retiring from the Marine Corps, Dick spent several years as Chief of Police of the Kwajalein Missile Range in the Marshall Islands. He and Dorothy enjoyed extensive travels during their retirement.
A Funeral Mass will be held at Noon on Friday, December 1, 2006 at Light of the World Catholic Church, 10306 W. Bowles Ave., Littleton. Burial will follow at Fort Logan National Cemetery. Contributions may be made to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, P.O. Box 650309, Dallas, TX 75265-0309.
