Richard (Dick) William Krueger, loving husband and father of three children passed away at the age of 87 on October 31, 2020. Dick was born on July 20, 1933 in Milwaukee, WI to Richard Robert Krueger and Tillie (Griesbach) Krueger. He is survived by his wife Margaret, two sons Jeff (Jennifer) Krueger of Carbondale, CO and Mark (Kathy) Krueger of Athens, GA, one daughter Lisa (Brian) Vasquez of Thornton, CO and one sister, Emily Krueger of Watertown, WI. His legacy includes six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his brother Herman (Theo) Krueger of West Bend, WI.

Dick graduated from Washington High School in Milwaukee, WI in 1951 and then attended Parks College in St. Louis, MO for engineering. Dick had a passion for aircraft and flying. He enrolled in the Air Force pilot cadet program and graduated in 1954 as a 2nd Lieutenant. He served in the Air Force for twelve years as a veteran pilot and instructor. Dick continued his pilot career with United Airlines starting in 1967 and then retired at age 60 in 1993. His flying passion continued after retirement and Dick spent nearly a decade building an experimental airplane in his workshop.

Dick met the love of his life, Margaret Louise Thompson, while stationed at Reese Air Force Base in Lubbock, TX. After dating for six months, he married his sweetheart on March 15, 1958. They celebrated an amazing 62 years together this year sharing love, happiness and devotion.

Dick was a devout Christian and a member of Christ the Savior Lutheran Church in Aurora, CO for 48 years. He was baptized at Nazareth Lutheran Church in Milwaukee, WI in 1933 and confirmed at the same church in 1944. Dick was a caring and giving soul with a kind and compassionate heart and volunteered much of his free time at Christ the Savior.

Dick struggled with health issues and was admitted to Sun Tree Hospice in 2018. Their loving and compassionate care helped Dick cope with his conditions with dignity and respect. Dick is now with the angels and flying above us all in the heavens.

A memorial service for the immediate family was held on Saturday, November 7, 2020 at Christ the Savior Lutheran Church. Donations in memory of Richard Krueger can be made to Christ the Savior Lutheran Church, PO Box 440642, Aurora, CO 80014-0642.
