Richard Lee Mulwee

Mr. Richard Lee Mulwee was born on July 25, 1940, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Herman and Carrie Mulwee. Richard passed away peacefully on May 31, 2024, in Aurora, Colorado.

Richard was the second eldest of ten children. He graduated from High School on June 9, 1958, in North Chicago, Illinois.

Richard enlisted in the United States Air Force (USAF) on November 6, 1959, and retired from the USAF on July 1, 1980. Technical Sargent Richard Lee Mulwee proudly served his country for twenty years, seven months, and twenty-five days. Richard was trained as an Organizational Supply Specialist, Inventory Management Specialist, and Contracting Specialist. Richard and his family were stationed at Èvreux-Fauville Air Base, France, Travis Air Force Base (AFB), California, Elmendorf AFB, Alaska, and Columbus AFB, Mississippi. Richard also served in Vietnam receiving the Vietnam Service Medal, and Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal.

After he retired from the USAF, Richard relocated to Aurora, Colorado, where he worked and retired from the Aurora Public School District. After his retirement, Richard worked twenty more years as a District Supervisor with Metropolitan Services, Inc. His work ethic was unparalleled, receiving numerous outstanding employee awards.

When Richard wasn’t working, he enjoyed studying the Bible, watching the news, and engaging in philosophical discussions solving the world’s problems. He was a charitable man, donating to many charitable organizations. He enjoyed drinking coffee and eating all kinds of sweets.

Richard’s faith sustained him throughout his life. He was a long-standing member of Epworth United Methodist Church in Denver, Colorado where he participated in the worship by reading scripture and volunteered twice a week working in the food bank.

Richard was proceeded in death by his parents, and two brothers: John Gregory, and Roy Henderson.

Richard Lee Mulwee is survived by his wife Ohm N. Mulwee; Daughters Audrey (Mark) Watkins, and Yvette Butler, and son Richard D. Mulwee; Grandchildren: Sylvia, Russell, Sasha, Derwin, Cheyenne, Mark Jr, Sydney, Myles, Rachel, Taylor, Aiden; Great-grandchildren: Isaiah, Elijah, Shaunna, Zayne, Zoel, Zavyn, Amerah; Great-grandchild: Riley; Brothers: James (Dana) Mulwee, Delmar Mulwee, Gary Henderson, German Henderson, Craige (Cheryl) Henderson, Warren (Dorothy) Henderson; Sister: Virginia (Warren) Mulwee-Kelly; a host of other family members, friends, co-workers, and his Epworth Church family.

Richard’s passing is deeply felt by all of those who knew him. “Although it’s difficult today to see beyond the sorrow, may looking back in memory help comfort you tomorrow.” – unknown.
