Richard S. Moore was born July 15, 1964 at Hamilton AFB in California. Being an Air Force brat he lived all over, including Japan, North Dakota, England and Las Vegas, before the family settled in Aurora, Colorado. He has left behind his mother Barbara Moore, sister Melissa Moore, niece Kirsten Richey and his cat Kool.
Rich graduated in 1983 from Hinkley High School in Aurora, and worked a number of years as a merchandiser at Miller Brands and at Coors, then worked as a shipping manager at Electritek/AVT. He was a hard worker and was determined to do a job right the first time.
Richard's interests included music of all types (especially classical and metal), the Dallas Cowboys and playing NTN/Buzztime. He was an avid reader and a fan of movies. He was particularly passionate about chess, studying for most of his life to improve his game. When he competed he was ranked third in Colorado in his division. He traveled to Wyoming and Las Vegas for regional competitions as well, placing 2nd in 1996 at the Wyoming Open Reserve.
Rich was generous to a fault, and willing to give the shirt off his back whenever needed. He was always available to help a friend at a moment's notice.
He struggled with alcoholism for a number of years before succumbing. Services will be held Friday, March 25 at 10:00 at Newcomers at 190 Potomac Street, Aurora 80011 (between 6th and Alameda).
