Richard spent his professional life running his own business at Phillips 66 in downtown Denver, where he earned a reputation for excellence and integrity before retiring at the age of 50. His dedication to his work was matched by his passion for bowling, a sport that brought him numerous trophies and accolades. He was deeply involved in the bowling community, even taking on maintenance responsibilities for bowling alleys.
In his personal life, Richard was a loving family man who created lasting memories with those around him. He had an infectious joy for life, often taking family and friends out to eat and generously covering the bill. Fond memories include playing basketball in the school yard with his son Richard Jr., as well as frequent bowling outings together. Alongside his love for sports, Richard enjoyed staying active by walking, riding his bike, and participating in boating and fishing trips, particularly at Chatfield.
Richard proudly served in the Army, where he dedicated his skills to repairing army tanks, showcasing his commitment to service.
He is survived by his two grandsons, David M. Skov and Brian Matthew Skov, and his daughter-in-law, Judy Skov. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mamie Skov, and his son, Richard Skov Jr.
Richard's love for cars was evident in his maintenance of his cherished vehicles, including a pristine 1964 Ford Galaxy and a 1963 Ford Falcon, both kept in immaculate condition. His achievements and contributions to both his profession and his community will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
