career in insurance claims for St. Paul Fire and Marine took his family on a new adventure with each
assignment. The places he called home were Beatrice and Grand Island Nebraska, Hays, KS, Tulsa, OK,
Cottage Grove, MN, and Littleton, CO until he took early retirement in 1989.
Dale is survived by six children and in-laws- Fred and Carmen Slack, Blane and Laurie Swisher, Brad and
Michele Swisher, Brent Swisher, Brian and Angela Smith, and Shawn Swisher. He is blessed with eleven

Swisher. Also survived by six great grandchildren- Everett and Charlotte Kieschnick, Hayden and Cooper
Slack, and Brooks and Nolan Svitak and in-laws and many nieces and nephews. Dale was a family man
and made many memories with those he loved.
Dale grew up in the Baptist faith and in April of 1988 joined the Catholic faith. He was a member of
Knights of Columbus and volunteered for various groups such as delivering bread from Panera to the
soup kitchens, helping neighbors out with various projects/errands, and doing weekly physical therapy
with his special needs grandson, Spencer.
Dale's hobbies included golf, woodworking, fishing, camping, hiking, travel, and when at home he loved spending time on genealogy.
Dale lived by the golden rule and was a friend to all.
