Richard James Zwart
June 29, 1932 — February 9, 2022
Rich was born on June 29th, 1932, in Rock Rapids, Iowa. He was born to Ruben and Jennie Zwart, and he was the oldest of 6 kids. They moved to California when he was 4 yrs old.
He met the love of his life Joan VanderStelt and was married in June 1952. They were blessed to be married for 69 yrs. Uncle Sam called him into the US Army just two months after getting married. He served in the Korean war from 1952 to 1954. They had three kids (Glen, Mark & Cathy). He loved his kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids dearly. They have been living the past four years at Harvard Square, a retirement community.
He enjoyed all the activities like Bingo, Wii bowling, and playing games. He also loved doing puzzles and drawing.
On February 9th at 1:30 AM, he walked through the gates of Heaven into the arms of his Lord Jesus. His earthly body was laid to rest at Fort Logan National Cemetery.
