Robert (Bob) Gerard Archibald died peacefully on January 16th, 2024 at Willowbrook Place Memory Care after battling dementia. Bob was a beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend. He was born August 4,1932 in Omaha, Nebraska.
Bob is survived by his beautiful wife, Jane, his devoted sons and daughter, Robert Jr. (Jennifer), Jim (Paula) and Mary Roth as well as his brother James Archibald (Eileen) of Broken Arrow, Ok. He was a grandfather to 10 grandchildren (Anny (Austin), Regan, Grace, Luke, Adam, Mary Jane, Eddie, Louie, Jane and Colleen and his great granddaughter, Mabel). He was preceded in death by his parents, John Edward and Mary Bridget, his brothers Edward Archibald (Pat), William Archibald (Joanne), his sister, Mary Catherine and his son-in law, Matthew Roth.
Bob grew up in Omaha, Nebraska in the Benson neighborhood with many happy years attending Holy Name Elementary and High School. Bob proudly served in the U.S Navy and after his military service, he graduated from Creighton University with a degree in Business and Marketing and began a successful career in sales. In 1966, Bob and Jane moved to Colorado. Despite this, Bob remained a loyal Nebraska Football fan and was a season ticket holder for over 40 years. Soon after arriving to Colorado, he became an independent sales rep. Bob would drive his van from state to state, stopping in small general stores throughout New Mexico, Nebraska, Wyoming and Colorado. He believed in hard work and loved his Catholic faith, attending daily mass. He was known for his practical jokes on his friends, sharing a beer with the golfers on his back patio, his love of his basset hounds, his generosity and his ability to talk his way out of any unpleasant situation. Bob enjoyed many winters in Scottsdale, Arizona where he loved to plant flowers, and work in his yard.
Bob will be missed by all who knew and loved him. May he rest in peace.
The funeral mass will be held on Thursday, January 25 at 10 AM, preceded with a Rosary at 9AM at All Souls Catholic Church, located at 4950 S Logan St, Englewood, CO 80113. There will be a reception at the church following the funeral mass and then Interment will follow at Fort Logan National Cemetery at 1PM. All are welcome.
