Robert Bodhane

April 2, 1929 — October 2, 2022

Bob was born at St. Joseph Hospital April 2nd 1929. His adoptive parents divorced when he was a toddler. He was then raised in east Denver by his mother.

He attended Dora Moore Elementary, Morey Jr. High, East High School and briefly attended C.U. An injury forced him to leave college and he was hospitalized at UC Hospital. When released he worked there for a number of years as an orderly.
His career started in the mail room at Denver Rio Grande Rail Road. He retired 35 years later as Supervisor of the Car Accounting Department. One of his biggest accomplishments was getting his department computerized.
Bob married Shirley Freeman, they had two children. John born in 1961 and Susan born in 1963. Shirley and Bob divorced in 1977, they remained friends until her death.

Even though Barbra was 18 years younger than Bob, they were true soul mates! They loved music, the mountains, travel, their Church and their blended family. Barbra's children Gabriel and Allison considered Bob like a father.

He is also survived by his grandchildren Zach, Samantha, Megan, Tyler, Charlie and Henry. As well as four great grandchildren and his beloved cats Matt, Molly, and Maisie.

Bob was a boy soprano in his youth and baritone when his voice finally changed at 17! In the 1950's he sang in The Denver Opera Company. At church he sang in the choir and cantered until he was 90! He also sang in the Cherry Creek Chorale in the 1980's.
Bob touched the lives of everyone he met. His enthusiasm was infections; whether tasting a wine to savor or watching his beloved Broncos. We will miss our much-loved father, husband and friend.
