Robert Jason Burmeister was born February 14th 1935 in Aberdeen, South Dakota to the late
Walter Fredrick Burmeister and the late Ramona Anna Burmeister. He quietly passed away
from natural causes at the age of 88 on August 5th 2023 in Aurora, Colorado at the Summit
Rehabilitation Center.
Robert served 3 years in Germany in the United States Army and was honorably discharged.
He went on to study electronics at Devry University and graduated with honors. He then went
to work for Motorola but retired early to stay home and take care of his mother who later
passed away from cancer in 1978.
Robert was a family man, he always put his families needs before his own. He always helped
the church out with repairs and maintenance. He helped his sister Roberta by watching his
nieces when she was working. He took them on bike rides along the high line canal and taught
them all about electronics. He loved playing pranks on them but most of all he loved being
goofy uncle Bob.
Later he took care of his father who also passed away from cancer in 1998. Due to the cost of
living, Robert moved to Mountain Home, Arkansas in 1999 to be near his Aunt Marge and
Uncle Cliff. There they looked out after each other. He was proud of his apartment and loved
walking around the trails where he lived.
Robert moved back to Aurora, Colorado in 2014 to be near his sister and the rest of his family.
He is survived by his sister Roberta Schmit and his two nieces Cari Marie Hewit and Shawnee
Ann Boyd.
