Robert John Donahue Jr. was born December 18, 1959, second child of Agnes and Robert Donahue in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He was preceded in death by his parents and younger sister Kathleen Donahue Manzi, who died three years ago from cancer. He had two remaining sisters Arlene Edwards and Patricia Dreeman, and nine nieces and nephews.
After high school, he moved to Aurora for a fresh start, living with Arlene and Bruce for about six years. He then moved out on his own, living and working in Denver. He lived in Arizona for two years, and eventually returned to Denver, where he remained.
Despite living far away, Robert did not forget his roots. He was Philadelphia Proud. He loved the Eagles and Phillies. He was a baseball nut and went to Rockies spring training in Arizona every year. He also traveled back to Philadelphia every summer to visit friends and family.
Recently, he joined Bethany Lutheran Church, and found some peace there. He talked to everyone and made friends easily – neighbors, store owners, wherever. He loved animals and had a cat whenever possible. He enjoyed the outdoors and fishing. He did not drive, so he was the bike guy, riding to work and everywhere he had to go.
Robert worked hard, never asked for anything, and took care of himself the best he could. He didn’t have an easy life, but he made it. He was happy living at Tim’s house, and bragged about him and their friends often.
Bob passed on June 3rd at his house from natural causes. He suffered a severe head injury a few years ago, which cased serious health concerns. He was loved and will be missed by many.
