Robert Lee Grazier
July 22, 1924- July 22, 2006
Passed Away on his 82nd Birthday
Born in Denver, Colorado. Robert was the second son of Floyd and Marguerite Grazier. Brother to Floyd Grazier and survived by his sister Catherine Y. Tieman. Robert served in the Army Air Corp in 1943-1946. He trained homing pigeons for the Pigeon Corp. who were used for intelligence work. He had a continuing love of all birds as well as a natural affinity for all of Gods creatures. Robert also represented the Corp on a high tower diving team.
He married Elvora Pfeifer on August 6, 1949. The daughter of Frank and Seraphina Pfeifer. They were blessed with 5 children, 14 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren, all who love him dearly.
He had a grand passion for dancing and sports, all of which he excelled at. He was truly the perfect son, as his mother was always quick to let you know. In 1969 he and his family, and many present friends started a family project of hand building a cabin in Tabernash, Colorado. Anybody that had the pleasure of sharing a trip to the cabin with Robert, knew that it was truly his piece of heaven on earth. We were fortunate to take him for his final trip to the cabin over Father's day weekend, and he enjoyed it as much that weekend as any other time. His main priority in life was spending time with his family and friends, and no one was ever a stranger to him. He was always quick to smile and share a joke or story, over and over and over again, to friends, family, and strangers as well.
Roberts love for sports carried over to his children. He bought roller skates for his children while they were still in diapers. Later he bought them ice skates, and even made them their own personal homemade ice rink in the backyard. All of his children became athletes.
Robert was a dare devil. He loved to experience anything with a thrill. From motorcycling to snowmobiling to flying in airplanes to water skiing to riding a roller coaster, Robert loved to have fun and enjoy life.
Working as a pneumatic control specialist, he traveled many highways, and never missed a day, come rain or shine you could always depend on Robert. Teaching was an important part of his life. He taught craft trades in the service, and an apprenticeship program at the Emily Griffith Opportunity School. On a personal note, Robert loved to teach his friends and family life lessons.
Unfortunately, Robert was diagnosed a year ago with cancer. He fought the battle of his life, with courage and strength. We lovingly say goodbye to him. He will remain in our hearts and in our memories forever. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Parkinsons Disease Foundation, 1359 Broadway, Suite 1509, New york, NY 10018, www.pdf.org
