Robert Kay Lanky Born February 4, 1931 in Colfax Washington to Mary Kate Nave and Robert Cates Lanky. He Graduated from Colfax Washington High School in 1949. He then entered the United States Marine Corp and served in Korea from 1949 – 1952. Robert Graduated from Washington State College with a Bachelors in Civil Engineering.
Robert married Delores R. Christman in 1953. They had four children. Claudia (Deceased) Carolyn (Brian) Alm, Cathy and Barry (Elena), 3 grand children Sheila Lanky, Curtis Lanky (Deceased) and Jacob Alm.
He worked for the Bureau of Reclamation, mostly hydrology for 33 years. In 1990 he was awarded the Meritorious Service Award. He retired in 1993. His great desire was hunting and fishing as well as camping. He liked gardening, bowling, and skiing. He was a volunteer tax aid with AARP, DRCOG and JCOA.
His favorite bible verse is John 3:16 – 18
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. 18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God's one and only Son.
