Robert Dwayne Linnie

February 5, 1958 — January 26, 2019

Robert Dwayne Linnie, 60, of Denver, passed away January 26, 2019.

He was born February 5, 1958 in Orange, Texas, the son of Samuel and James Etta Linnie.

He was a graduate of George Washington High School in Denver June, 1976, lead drummer in his high school band. He then after enlisted into the marine corp right after graduation at 18 years old in San Diego California to Camp Pendelton. Robert loved to read at the tender age of 3 he would read "Lil Golden Books" to his mother every afternoon. He loved to play outside until he was so tired he couldn't make it to the dinner table. Around the age of 5 he developed a love for football and became a die hard broncos fan shortly after, there was a flag raise on our front yard to prove it. January 3rd 1987 Robert became a father to beautiful baby boy Dwayne James Linnie his first born son. So thrilled to be a father they became two peas in a pod, they did everything together sports, driving around town, fishing, football games, etc. We know they were ecstatic to have met again we're sure football is a daily routine. On October 31, 2018, he married Tess Montoya-Aguero after a 15-year courtship. Robert was well known as the Chef in the family and every meal was delicious indeed, especially his famous green chili which he'd often make with breakfast burritos and his Italian sausage sandwiches and not to forget his Zuppa Toscana soup that taste better than the one from olive garden.

Robert was a good listener and gave good advice to his niece and nephew about life and how to do things the right way. He was truly the man of the house and made sure his mother was never under any stress over the yard or the windows that you could actually almost see your reflection in.

He was crazy about children. He would light up around babies and little children. Robert was a true friend to his friends. He also loved his sister and the relationship that they shared. Robert was always ready to help and was always available to his family and friends. Robert and his mother shared a deep bond, they were extremely close and enjoyed talking about memories and laughing together. Family dinners were always the best with the two of them in the kitchen and Robert carving the turkey every thanksgiving with his electric knife.

Robert will be missed by many, memories will live on forever we will always remember the laughs and especially... That million dollar smile.

Robert is survived by his loving wife, Tess Montoya-Aguero; his beloved mother, James Etta Linnie; sister, Suzette Monique Linnie; nephews, Paris Ray Linnie and Phillip Soublet II and Phillip Soublet III, niece, Endia Linnie; two step-sons, Mack Montoya and Vicente Montoya; step-daughter, Alicia Aguero;step-granddaughter, Juliana Bracamontes; and a host of friends.
