Robert Lee Pugh Sr.

On Tuesday December 1. 2020, Robert L. Pugh, father
of three, grandfather of eight and great grandfather of six, quietly slipped away at the age of 87.

Robert, known as Bob to many, was born on November 28, 1933 in Holly Springs, Mississippi to Charlie and Birdie (Harper) Pugh. He was the oldest of seven boys.

Upon graduating from Melrose High School in Memphis, he joined the U. S. Air Force. Robert remained for 23 years. After retiring from the Air Force he went to work for the VA Hospital in Denver. He advanced to the position of Chief of Police before retiring in 1998.

On May 5, 1961 he married Dolores Jean Martin. They raised two children together, a daughter Debra and a son, Robert Pugh Jr. while Robert also helped raise a second daughter, Nicole. They divorced in 1981.

Robert pursued different interests throughout his life. They included skiing, fishing, furniture upholstery, wood carving, and gardening. He also took great delight in a good garage sale. Most of all he relished his time with his grandchildren. Robert was a kind, compassionate and light natured person that was always ready with and for a good joke. Always gracious and willing to help.

Robert was preceded in death by his Father Charlie, Mother Birdie. Six brothers. A son, Robert L. Pugh Jr.

He is survived by his two daughters, Debra Norwood (Bill) and Nicole Martin (Albert), his grandchildren, Tonia, Alexandria, Corey, Noelle, Madisen, Breanna, Campbell, and Madison. Six great grandchildren. A loving host of in - laws, Cousins, Nieces, Nephews, Dearly Cherished Friends and one Red Truck.

He has left this earthly life, but he will never leave our hearts.
