Robert Kay Rogers, known by most as "Casey", 92, passed away on September 26, 2023, with family by his side.
He was born in Denver, Colorado on October 22, 1930, to Ed and Alice (McCall) Rogers. He was a football and baseball player and graduated from Rifle High School Class of 1950. He started working at Safeway in Rifle at 14. He is a veteran of the U.S. Army. He married the love of his life, Charlene Antionette Palazzi, on September 2, 1951. Shortly after getting married, they left the Western Slope and moved to Denver. He was a husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, friend, and neighbor who left a memorable legacy.
Robert is survived by his two sons David Rogers (Janine Rogers) and Michael Rogers, his four grandchildren Nicole (Rogers) Dreher, Jena (Rogers) Graham, Matt Rogers, Karah (Rogers) Berg, and his seven great-grandchildren Zeke Rogers, Zed Rogers, Zoey Rogers, Madeline Berg, Gabriella Berg, Piper Graham and Jace Graham.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, 8 of 9 of his siblings, and his wife Charlene.
Some of his favorite pastimes were going dancing with Charlene and friends on the weekends. Over the years he spent many hours at ballparks and gyms to cheer on his favorite athletes. He enjoyed bowling on Thursday nights in a couple's league with Charlene. He was an avid golfer and even made a couple of holes-in-ones. He loved game nights with the family and could be found in front of penny slot machines in Blackhawk. One of his favorite places was sitting out on his back patio with family and friends.

Memorial arrangements are set for Thursday, October 12, 2023. The viewing will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home at 10:00 a.m. Services will be held at 11:00 followed by burial at Fort Logan National Cemetery at 1:00 p.m.
