Robert L. Runyan

March 25, 1948 — November 9, 2024

Robert Leo Runyan “Bob” passed away on November 9, 2024 at the age of 76. He was at home in Lakewood, Colorado surrounded by his family. Bob lived his life on his own terms until the end. He encompassed strength, courage and resolve throughout his life and this continued throughout his battle with leukemia. Bob was born on March 25, 1948 in Denver, Colorado to Albert and Elda Mae Runyan. He was the middle of five children, Bonnie (Bob) McCullough, Timothy Runyan (deceased), Sylvia (Bill) Bullock, Mary (Russ) Adams.

Bob spent his career as a firefighter with Denver Fire Department and retired in 1999. He was also a skilled woodworker and contractor.

He married Frances in 1978 and they were married just short of 48 years.

Bob and Fran were able to live their dream of building a home in Puerto Escondido, Mexico, and were snowbirds spending 25 winters just blocks from the Pacific Ocean.

Bob’s pride and joy was his family. When he wasn’t in Mexico he and Fran enjoyed spending time and many vacation adventures with his daughter and her family. He also loved golf. He spent a lot of time on the golf course with his men’s leagues and with his son-in-law and grandson.

Bob is survived by his wife Fran, daughter Sheldine, son-in-law Kevin, grandchildren Chase and Jade, his niece and great-niece Shonna and Emily, his siblings, sisters-in-law, and many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held on December 1, 2024 from 2pm - 6pm at Foothills Golf Course Restaurant 3901 S. Carr St. Denver, CO 80235
