Robert L. Sagrillo

Robert L. Sagrillo "Bob", 96, of Denver, passed away July 2, 2018.

He was born December 21, 1921 in Telluride, Colorado, the son of Quinton and Rose (Reynolds) Sagrillo. He attended Eagle County High School through his junior year and was a 1940 graduate of West High School in Denver.

After his graduation, Bob went to work at the Gates Rubber Company for 2 years before entering the US Army Air Corps.

On April 26, 1942, he married Dorothy Ellen Hardin.

Bob honorably served in the US Army Air Corps during World War II and was discharged at the rank of Corporal.

Following his discharge, he returned to the Gates Rubber Company until he joined the Denver Fire Department on April 1, 1950. He retired from the Denver Fire Department after 25 years of service on April 1, 1975. Bob didn't stay retired long. He became a driver for various transportation companies and finally was the Personal Chauffeur for Mr. Donald Seawell at the Denver Center for the Performing Arts.

Bob enjoyed fishing and hunting. He also enjoyed woodworking.

Bob is survived by sons Lee (Judy), Lynn; daughter Dawn Willbanks; brother Gene; many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Dorothy "Dottie" Sagrillo; parents, Quinton and Rose Sagrillo; brother Jack; granddaughter Jolie Dawn Willbanks; and great-grandson Alex Sagrillo.
