Robert Dale Seible
January 19, 1925 – March 28, 2006
Robert Dale Seible, second child of Albert and Maud, was born at home in Topeka, Kansas on January 19, 1925. The family moved soon after that to Kansas City, Missouri, where he and his older sister Joy were raised. Bob was a senior at Central High School in the spring of 1943 when he was introduced to a cute freshman girl named Ruby Jean Clutter. The match was a strong one; but within weeks of meeting his true love, Bob graduated from high school and went off to war.
For three long years during World War II, Bob served in the United States Navy throughout the Pacific Theater. At the same time, he courted his sweet Ruby Jean through daily letters. He was honorably discharged in April 1946; he then married his sweetheart just as soon as he could. They had a simple ceremony at his parents' home in Valley Falls, Kansas on June 2 of that very year.
The young couple made their first home in Kansas City, Missouri. Bob was a freshman at Rockhurst College when Bob II, first of the agreed-upon five children, was born. Baby Cathy came along four years later. In 1956, the Seibles moved to Denver, where they continued to add little ones to their life with Marilyn, Bill, and finally Bev.
In those early years, Bob worked for Stearns-Rogers and Denver Technical College. He launched his own business, Seible School of Drafting, in 1965. He worked closely with the Veterans' Administration doing rehabilitation with Vietnam Veterans. He also provided training for the developmentally disabled.
Bob was baptized as an infant. He was confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Kansas City, Missouri. He and Jean made their church home at Trinity Lutheran Church in Denver for many years. They later worshipped and served the Lord at St. John's and Bethlehem Lutheran Churches. Peace Lutheran and Ascension Lutheran Churches also held a place in his heart.
He held his sweet Ruby Jean tight as she entered glory on August 13, 2004. They had been married for 58 years. His remaining days on earth were devoted to the worship and glorifying of his dear Lord. When asked how he was doing, it was his habit to reply that he was better than he deserved, and then to recount all that God has done for him to anyone who would listen. He loved his family and prayed for them continually. His final wishes were that all of his family – his children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and spouses -- would come to saving faith and walk with the Lord Jesus. Heaven opened its gates to receive him home at last on Tuesday, March 28, 2006. We said goodbye to him laughing, sobbing, clapping, singing, and shouting thanks to God for His mercy and answered prayers.
Robert Dale Seible was preceded in death by his parents, Albert Henry Seible and Maude Ella (nee Stuart) Seible; one sister Iva Joy (nee Seible) Peters; and his wife Ruby Jean (nee Clutter) Seible.
