Robert Lee (Bob) Steinert 92, was born to Albert and Martha Steinert on November 6, 1930 on a farm near Galatia, Kansas. Bob peacefully passed under the care of Denver Hospice on December 11, 2022. Preceded in death by his wife of 58 years Mary A. Steinert, parents Albert and Martha Steinert and brothers Eugene Steinert, Waldean Steinert, Kenneth Steinert. Bob is survived by sisters Alberta Brack of Hoisington Kansas and Anna Marie Powell (Bill) of Salina, Kansas. Children David (Barbara) Steinert and Laura (Vernon) Thompson of Aurora Co. Grandchildren Anna Marie Steinert, Brian (Alyssa) Steinert, Alvin (Melissa) Thompson, Dede Thompson (Tony Vecchio). Great Grandchildren Taylor Demo (Dev'n Shumway), Anthony Demo III, Shaylee Ham (Mathias), Ruby Thompson, Lily Thompson, Adaline Steinert and Great Great Grandchild Emilia Shumway
Bob was a proud veteran of the United States Army serving from 1951-1954. In Korean he was wounded in action and he received the Korean Service Medal with two Bronze Service Stars, United Nations Service Medal, Combat Infantry Badge and a Purple Heart.
Bob lived over 60 years in Aurora Colorado and a current member of Bethel Lutheran Church. Bob was involved with church bowling and softball leagues. He spent many years coaching youth sports and women's softball teams. Bob very much enjoyed volunteering for Interchurch Task Force. Over the years Bob delivered hundreds of truckloads of groceries fighting food insecurity in the community. He especially enjoyed fishing, hunting, golf and outdoor activities with friends and family. Bob was also well known for the best hugs to anyone who would accept them.
In lieu of flowers Bob requested donations to Bethel Lutheran Church of Aurora or Disabled American Veterans (DAV).
